Program Description
RISE is a 6-week guided group experience for women moving through change, whether that’s life transitions, identity shifts, or simply feeling out of alignment with where they are.
The program is a structured space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself while continuing everyday life. RISE combines personal reflection, nervous system regulation, and peer connection in a steady weekly rhythm. Participants join RISE alongside therapy or other care, and others as a dedicated container for personal growth, clarity, and grounding.
RISE 2025 Participant
“I really craved being in a SAFE open space shared with women and RISE was the perfect place for that. Valeria holds space in such a beautiful and authentic way that made me feel safe to share my thoughts, feelings, as well as my unique energy. I felt extremely welcomed by her but also by all the other women participating and I am truly thankful I had the opportunity to be in this beautiful space.”
Opening Day Retreat:
May 2nd 11am-3pm.
Sakala, Denver, CO.
Your RISE journey begins in person, in circle, intention, and community.
Our Opening Day Retreat at Sakala is a full-day immersive experience designed to ground you before the transformation begins. This is where we set the tone for the next six weeks. This is where strangers become sisters. This is where you remember you are not walking alone.
We begin by slowing down. You’ll be guided through yoga, reflective journaling, small-group connection, and a powerful opening circle where you’ll clarify what you’re releasing and what you’re rising into. Lunch will be provided.
Throughout the day, we’ll explore:
Reclaiming your sense of inner security
Naming the transition you are navigating
Identifying the patterns you are ready to outgrow
Setting clear, courageous intentions for this season of your life
Weekly Virtual Workshops (2 hrs each):
Each week, we gather virtually for a focused, intentional two-hour workshop designed to deepen your growth and keep you moving forward with clarity.
These sessions are guided experiences. Through structured reflection, practical education, and interactive exercises, you’ll build real skills in:
Self-awareness and emotional insight
Nervous system regulation and stress management
Strengthening self-trust and decision-making
Integrating change into your daily life
Every workshop includes guided journaling, small-group discussion or partner work, and tangible tools you can immediately apply to your relationships, career, and personal transitions. This is where insight becomes integration.
Note: we don’t meet on Memorial Day weekend to honor rest, family, and spaciousness
If you ever miss a session, you’ll have access to:

What shifted for you through being part of RISE?
“My mindset on what healing looks like, that there is no one size fits all but when you have community, support and guidance it sure makes it a whole lot easier. I have always felt so disconnected from my roots and RISE helped bring me back to how my ancestors practiced healing, how they found themselves again and worked through trauma and the power of community especially an all women's community where we just get it.”

Valeria Martinez is the founder of The Balam Sanctuary and the creator of RISE — a 6-week immersive experience for women navigating transition.
As a first-generation Mexican American and trauma-informed space holder, Valeria’s work is rooted in lived experience. After being diagnosed with Complex PTSD, she committed to her own healing through therapy, yoga, nervous system regulation, community support, and deep self-inquiry. What began as survival became transformation.
She knows what it means to feel overwhelmed by change career shifts, relationship endings, identity evolution, financial pressure, and she also knows what it takes to rebuild from the inside out.
With years of experience facilitating retreats, circles, and immersive programs across the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico, Valeria creates structured, grounded spaces that blend emotional depth with practical integration. Her approach is not about bypassing pain or chasing perfection. It’s about building internal safety, resilience, and self-trust.
Through RISE, she brings together the tools that changed her life:
Nervous system regulation
Reflective practice and journaling
Accountability within community
Clear, courageous action
Valeria’s work supports women in strengthening their foundation so they can make decisions from clarity instead of fear.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to deepen her trauma-informed lens and expand her ability to serve women navigating life transitions.
RISE is not theory for her.
It is lived practice.
